All my life, I’ve surrounded myself with people who dismissed my ideas or told me my ideas were stupid. I came to believe that I shouldn’t even bother thinking and suppressed my original thoughts. My thoughts were quelled to exist in the back of my mind as fragments while I took on other people’s more dominating ideas. I lost my ability to think for myself; I was a leming, but in a way that felt original to the narcissists whose whims I had followed in order to make happy.

Being inspired by free thinkers, I snapped out of it, realizing the toxicity of being mute. I discovered that my ideas were worth sharing. I was given insight to my own personality. I realized that because of my personality, I needed a soundboard. And so, I write. Not only to articulate my thoughts, but also to share them and connect with others, too.
